The Class 6A high school football regular season in Minnesota ended Friday night, and the East Metro produced a series of notable results, from a program-defining win in Roseville to a last-second upset in the south metro.

Roseville was the standout team. The Raiders beat Coon Rapids 24-14 to capture the Metro Maroon subdistrict title and finished the regular season 4-4, their best mark since 2017. Senior quarterback Chase Browning threw for 162 yards and three touchdowns. "It's an amazing feeling," Browning said. "I don't even have words for it. We've all worked so hard. It's great to see it finally paying off."

Centennial rolled past Anoka 38-6, a result that likely secures the Cougars a No. 3 seed in the Class 6A playoffs and positions them as a credible contender for a deep run into November. Anoka's six points were the first time the team had been held to single digits this season.

Mounds View took sole possession of the Metro East subdistrict title by edging White Bear Lake 22-16. Trailing by two, the Mustangs went ahead when quarterback Tanner Jude scored on a one-yard run with 65 seconds left, and a successful two-point conversion made it a six-point lead. Preston Johnson then intercepted a pass on the Bears' next possession to seal the win. The Mounds View defense held White Bear Lake quarterback Wyatt Stachowiak to six completions on 24 attempts.

East Ridge closed a season that likely did not go as planned with a 42-31 victory over rival Woodbury. Logan Tretter ran for two touchdowns, and Elias Mather returned an interception for a late score to put the game out of reach.

Forest Lake running back Mack Jurkovich was the night's top individual performer. He ran for 245 yards and two touchdowns as the Rangers beat Stillwater 31-13, a result that locks up a No. 2 seed in the Class 6A playoffs. Jurkovich, who has committed to St. Thomas, ended the regular season with 1,600 rushing yards.

Park junior receiver Manny Vargas also stood out, scoring twice in the Wolfpack's 18-10 win over Eastview. He caught a touchdown pass and returned a punt 75 yards for a score.

The most dramatic finish came in the south metro. Lakeville South sophomore kicker Dylan Nelson connected on a 36-yard field goal with one second remaining to give the Cougars a 17-14 upset of Rosemount. The result complicates the seeding picture in the south metro for the Class 6A playoffs.
